Open Question: Truth about 9/11 The government is for the people by the people, cant we do something?
Is there anything we can do to force our government who is SUPPOSED to be there for its own citizens to divulge in releasing more information about 9/11 as in doing something as little as showing us an actual video of a plane hitting the pentagon? All the non-believers will say I saw the plane, witnesses saw the plane etc..Well if so how about you prove myself and the hundreds of thousands that believe the same idea on 9/11 and post a link of that video and not 3 or so clips of a explosion. Can we as citizens revolt to force our government to explain to us what really happened on 9/11. Most of us know but actually hearing it from the government that they did it for money and the ability to enter the middle east at free will would be Absolutely devastating but it is necessary. All the news regulations implemented such as homeland security were done so by forcing a terrible tragedy to sculpt our decision to basically strip all of us citizens of our god given rights in times of emergency. Two words F*** BUSH
moreOpen Question: Plucky Saddam Hussein fooled us all, didn't he?
EIGHTEEN months before he was hanged, Saddam Hussein told the FBI he allowed the world to believe he had weapons of mass destruction because he was worried about appearing weak to Iran, reports said yesterday.
According to declassified accounts of the FBI interviews released yesterday, the former Iraqi president said he felt so vulnerable to the perceived threat from "fanatic" leaders in Tehran that he would have been prepared to seek a "security agreement with the United States to protect (Iraq) from threats in the region".
The Washington Post reported that summaries of the FBI interviews underlined Saddam's fear of Iran. In the interviews, Saddam said he considered Tehran a greater threat than the US.
Iran and Iraq had fought an eight-year war in the 1980s, and Saddam was convinced Iran was trying to annex southern Iraq, which, like Iran, is largely Shia, the report said.
George Piro, the FBI agent who conducted the interviews, said: "Hussein viewed the other countries in the Middle East as weak and could not defend themselves or Iraq from an attack from Iran."
Former US president George W. Bush ordered the invasion of Iraq in March 2003 after Saddam refused to comply with UN resolutions requiring UN weapons inspectors unfettered access to suspected WMDs production facilities.
"The threat from Iran was the major factor as to why he did not allow the return of UN inspectors," Mr Piro said.
"Hussein stated he was more concerned about Iran discovering Iraq's weaknesses and vulnerabilities than the repercussions of the United States for his refusal to allow UN inspectors back into Iraq."
The report said Saddam noted that Iran's weapons capabilities had increased dramatically while Iraq's weapons had been "eliminated by the UN sanctions", and that Iraq would have to reconstitute its weapons to deal with that threat if it could not reach a security agreement with the US.
In the FBI interviews, Saddam at one point acknowledged he should have permitted the UN to witness the destruction of Iraq's weapons stockpile after the 1991 Gulf War.
moreOpen Question: What can I say back about Bush being a bad president?
My logic is sound about Bush, but I need a comeback to him.
What can I say?
Me: His advisors planned to start the war in Iraq years before he did.
Other guy's responce: You have no real proof of that, there is the Conservative think tank that Liberals try to use as proof, but most of the Advisors are only signatories to the "Statement of Principles" of the organization and not actually active members of it.
Mind you the Statement of Principles for this think tank are and I quote:
* we need to increase defense spending significantly if we are to carry out our global responsibilities today and modernize our armed forces for the future;
* we need to strengthen our ties to democratic allies and to challenge regimes hostile to our interests and values;
* we need to promote the cause of political and economic freedom abroad; [and]
* we need to accept responsibility for America's unique role in preserving and extending an international order friendly to our security, our prosperity, and our principles.
Those four things are pretty much international beliefs for any Conservative.
Me: They used the terrorist attack to justify it, yet the terrorist were in Afghanistan, not Iraq. Instead of staying in Afghanistan, we went to Iraq, and never found binLaden who admitted to sending the terrorists to attack us.
Other guy's responce: Do you honestly believe that we wouldn't be going into Iraq some time in the twenty years since Gulf War 1. I mean did you not forget how close Clinton came to invading. Iraq was the most misbehaving regime in the Middle East at that time. Yes 9/11 was a wake up call to the danger it posed. But it was Saddam's actions, not some stupid conspiracy that was driving the two countries onto a collision course.
Me: When Bush was asked the next year why we didn't put more effort into finding binLaden, he said he "didn't care" about binLaden. So our president who is supposedly defending us from terrorists said he didn't care about finding the man who admitted to attacking us!!!!
Other guy's responce: And he was right, he would be pathetically stupid if he focused on Bin Laden and only Bin Laden. The Middle East was a festering bed of Anti American hatred, radicals, and terrorism. Bin Laden had become minimized to the point he had become a figure head and has been one for several years. Bush could have devoted his entire war effort into finding Bin Laden and most likely would have came up empty. But you know what? After about 4 or 5 years of searching, he and everyone else would have raised up their head and realized that while searching for this man, we had made the same stupid mistakes that created 9/11. We had neglected to deal with the Middle East, we had neglected to deal with the Dictators, and we had neglected to deal with Al Qaeda as a whole.
Bin Laden could have easily could have become Bush's White Whale. But you should remember, Captain Ahab was so focused on his obsession that in the end, it killed him.
Me: Bush continues to send our troops to die in the Middle East at a horrible rate.
Other guy's responce: And a much lower rate than many of the other wars.
Me: Is it worth thousands of American lives to keep fighting in a country that doesn't even want democracy? They don't want it, so why are we getting killed over it?
Other guy's responce: Umm yes, because if you don't secure that country, if you do not make sure that we treat it the right way. It becomes Afghanistan. Read a bit of history, read up on what happened when we took a hands off approach to Afghanistan once the Soviet Union was kicked out.
Al Qaeda had repeatedly made their intentions clear, they wanted Iraq, they wanted it badly, they were willing to risk their entire organization for it. They wanted it to be their next base of operations. And you want to leave it because too many people died? Because you believe they don't want democracy when the people have fled to the polls to vote for their Government despite death? Well you know what, consider what would happen if Al Qaeda did have the whole country to work with.
Me: If we wanted to help, we would have needed to go about it a different way. Either take so many troops in that we flooded the country and really could ensure peace (but then we would be viewed as occupiers and that would have made our image worse), or we could have killed Sadam quietly and efficiently, without tens of thousands of innocent people getting caught in the crossfire.
Other guy's responce: We went in wrong, there is no denying that, but killing Saddam is absolutely stupid. His sons, one of them a known rapist who took pleasure in killing and mutilating people. Some say his sons were even worse than his father, and they would be in command if you killed Saddam.
Me: Bush's own father, the former President Bush, warned him that fighting in Baghdad would be dangerous, and the troops would be ambushed. Bush says he does not take advice from his Dad, siYou retards, there was a topic called 'Did Bush do anything right as a president?' and I responded to that topic.
Gosh, just answer the damn question >_>
moreOpen Question: Remembering what's going on in both Iran and Honduras, do you think Bush's actions in Iraq inspired people?
Iran used to be thought of as perhaps one of our next wars in the middle east. Now it sounds like they are taking action for themselves to resist a corrupt government.
Now there's Honduras, and while we here in the U.S. didn't commonly know of their problems, it sounds like the people there too have risen up to resist a corrupt official who was attempting to usurp their constitution to maintain his power over them. Now he's been overthrown for now, provided Obama and the UN doesn't force Honduras to take him back.
Do you think that people all over the world saw what happened in Iraq and the progress that has been made there for democracy and were inspired to take more responsibility for themselves and do something about corruption and inequality?
Maybe Bush was right, maybe what we did in Iraq is having a sort of domino effect that Obama is trying to squash in Honduras, and encourage in Iran.
Maybe people weren't inspired while Bush was in office because Bush was demonized by his own people, but Obama is Anglicized by his own people, so maybe his "yes we can" speech helped to add fuel to Bush's fire of democracy that he started in Iraq.
And now maybe people all over the world are going to start demanding that their governments be more accountable to the people and maybe democracy will start to spread if the fire isn't put out by Obama, the UN, and the democrats.
Obama, stop putting out Honduras' fire. They are cleaning the corruption, you should be praising their efforts and helping them not to end up a less free society, but a more free society.Well he sure made himself sound like he was when campaigning.LALA:

It seems to me with the success in Iraq ( I know the people who will say 4,000 deaths, is not a success) something sparked in the region and now the people in Iran are wondering why they can not have the same freedoms as the Iraqi's. As a result the people of the area are standing up against corrupt governments and making a plea for democracy. OK, all you pin head liberals, try to answer this without bashing Bush (if you can). Give me concrete, solid accomplishments that Obama has done so far. What has he done to help our country's economy? What has he done to help our military? What has he done to help YOU??
I'll tell you what he has done:
1. Quadrupled the national debt and deficit. In fact, his spending is more than President Washington to President Bush....COMBINED!!
2. He has already lied on his promises that anyone making less than $200K per year won't see ANY type of tax increases. The new cap and trade tax will at least triple your energy costs (but you liberals like spending more on taxes anyway).
3. He has gone on two apology tours to the Middle East, blaming his own country for their problems. Yet he makes no mention that it has been American blood that was shed around the world to help liberate Muslims (ie. Somalia, Bosnia, Gulf War, Iraq War, Afghanistan).
4. He is extremely weak when it comes to foreign affairs (ie. Iran election).
OK, you uneducated liberals, have at it. This should be fun!!

moreVoting Question: Obama to Chavez blast Honduras coup yet CIA/USA & MOSSAD/ISRAEL start coup's all the time. Why is that ok?
A few years ago, a friend visiting the United States from Switzerland remarked upon what she viewed as one of the more conspicuous American personality quirks: Americans often seem to possess absolutely no curiosity when it comes to history -- not their own or that of the world at large. How can Americans make informed opinions, she mused, when they have no stomach for history, politics, or current events? My Swiss friend found this incomprehensible -- not only incomprehensible, but dangerous.
Enter Colin Powell. In a Reuters interview, Powell characterizes the missing Saddam Hussein as "a piece of trash waiting to be collected" by the United States military. Personalizing the vendetta against Saddam is nothing new -- Bush has done it from the start, as his father did the last time the US invaded Iraq. For millions of Americans, the invasion of Iraq and the ongoing devastation of that unfortunate and victimized country are all about Saddam. Like the irritating neighbor who cuts his grass at three in the morning and dumps the clippings over the fence, Americans react to Saddam Hussein on an emotional and personal level. Saddam -- thanks to Bush and the corporate media -- has taken on a biblical semblance of evil. Saddam Hussein is the yardstick we now use to measure wickedness. He is our Emmanuel Goldstein, replacing Osama in the neocon pantheon of evil.
In fact, Saddam is no better or worse than any number of dictators past or present. General Augusto Pinochet, Ferdinand Marcos, General Suharto, Anastasio Somoza, Pol Pot -- these are a few of the bloody dictators responsible for the death of literally millions of people (Pol Pot was responsible for the slaughter of 1.5 million people, Suharto 500,000 or more). These are dictators the United States either supported directly or indirectly over the years. In general, the American people know nothing about these sadists and murderous thugs or how their government supported them.
If Saddam is indeed "a piece of trash," as Powell claims, it is an indisputable fact that he is trash created by the United States. Saddam was almost entirely a Frankenstein creation of the CIA. This is a fact backed up by more than one US government official and documented in several books.
And yet, if you were to ask the average American if he or she finds it possible Saddam Hussein was groomed, financed, and supported by the CIA beginning with president John F. Kennedy -- who signed off on plan to overthrow the government of Iraq in 1963 -- chances are they wouldn't believe it. After all, we're the good guys, we do good in the world -- and that's why we're now attempting to track down Hussein and bring him to justice. It's all about liberating the Iraqi people and throwing off this sadistic butcher -- or so the Bushites want us to believe.
The Saddam-CIA story is out there, easy enough to find. In order to find it, simply point your browser at Google and enter the following search criteria: "Saddam CIA coup." Most of the results returned link to articles and news items reporting how the CIA attempted to overthrow Hussein several times since the first Gulf invasion. ABC, Time, MSNBC, USA Today, and other mainstream publications carry many of these stories.
But Google also turns up stories infrequently if ever reported in the mainstream press about Saddam Hussein and the CIA -- as it turns out the Iraqi dictator and the now reviled Ba'ath Party were once favored CIA assets serving US interests. This is the sort of information you will not find splashed across the front page of the New York Times, let alone buried in section F16. In fact, most of this information appears primarily in papers such as the Hindustan Times or in books written by Arab authors. Since the story is at odds with the Bush version of reality, it's not front-page material in America.
In April of this year, however, as Bush was knee-deep into his invasion of Iraq, the UPI ran a story about Saddam's connection to the CIA. The story came and went. It was buried beneath a tidal wave of anti-Saddam propaganda and hysterical distortion unleashed by the Bushites and parroted by an obedient corporate media.
Prior to the UPI story, Roger Morris, a former National Security Council staffer in the 1970s, confirmed that the Ba'ath Party now so reviled by average Americans was essentially installed by the CIA in 1963 in response to the Iraqi leader General Abd al-Karim Qasim, a bloody dictator who backed out of the anti-Soviet Baghdad Pact and talked about nationalizing Iraq's oil industry. "We came to power on a CIA train," admitted Ali Saleh Sa'adi, Ba'ath Party secretary general at the time. As James Critchfield, then head of the CIA in the Middle East, told Andrew and Patrick Cockburn ("Out of the Ashes, The Resurrection of Saddam Hussein," 2000), the CIA regarded the Ba'athist coup against Qasim "a great victory" and also considered it their favorite
moreResolved Question: Muslims- isn't Obama's foreign policy working really well?
Take Iran for example. Obama knows the hardliners in Iran such as the President and a few of the members of the Guardian Council want to foster a divide between Iran and America. The past 8 years, with Bush, it was easy to do so. The war in Iraq meant that US troops in the region increased significantly, thus making Iran feel vulnerable, especially after Bush labelled it a part of his "axis of evil".
The Iranian economy has been suffering terribly too. How is this possible for a country with the largest reserves of natural oil and gas in the Middle East? Simple. Because it is in the interests of the Iranian government to keep the Iranian people poor, to ensure that the middle class remains weak. Why? Because we know in every country, once people get wealthy, and the middle class grows, it starts to focus on human rights issues rather than on employment and poverty. And if the Iranian middle class were to focus on human rights and other cultural issues, opening up the markets, etc, it would mean the end of the government and their shia theocracy. Thus, it suits the Iranian govt to keep their people poor, and then, to unify them, blame America. When Bush kept making those threats, this was easy. However, with Obama, he wished them happy iranian new year, called for open dialogue, called for peace talks, has not criticised the iranian govt openly at least, thus putting pressure on the iranian govt to find an enemy to channel their publics frustrations. And remember, the iranian public is actually the most pro american public in the entire middle east. It's their govt however, which is vehemently anti-american.
So by keeping quiet, this meant attention in the elections turned towards domestic issues...and now, what we are seeing on the news.
Just one example of how a non aggressive, but firm foreign policy adopted by Obama is working well.
Don't you agree?I forgot to mention the speech in Cairo which was directed at us muslims, his speech in Turkey, as well as his understanding of the damage Guantanamo Bay causes. He is encountering opposition from Congress on his decision to shut it down, but still wants to go ahead with it.
This is a president who understands!AIPAC is a very successful interest group. But remember, the muslims in America now outnumber jewish people, and muslims in America are doing well. they earn on average above the national average. So a interest for muslims should be established. the problem is, we muslims are so divided amongst ourselves, it becomes impossible.Mr Nice Guy- Iran needs money to upgrade it's oil infrastructure. this is money it can only really get from America and the western world. However, its opposition to the US has become more important than its own national interest. This is why, for example, you see Iran getting closer with Chavez in Venezuela?? Doesn't make sense does it.

moreResolved Question: What is Al Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, are they for real, do they actually exist in real life?
Recently, I was browsing the internet and found very interesting article.
During the 1980s, when Russian troops occupied Afghanistan, the USA's Central Intelligence Agency was sending arms and war material to the Afghani Mujahideen. The CIA also provided military training and logistical support to the Afghani Mujahideen. US arms dealers, CIA agents, and covert US military Special Operations troops were deeply involved in assisting the Afghan resistance to Russian occupation. The Stinger shoulder-launched anti-aircraft missiles which the USA gave to the Mujahideen enabled the Mujahideen to turn the tide of battle and to eventually defeat and expel the Russian Army from Afghanistan.
Afghanistan is a major opium-growing center, and during the Russian/Afghan conflict, heroin trafficking out of Afghanistan became a major enterprise for the CIA, which used its own fleet of difficult-to- trace aircraft to ship the drug into Europe. When I was in New Delhi in 1980, I met young Afghans who were eager to sell heroin and AK-47 automatic assault rifles to almost anyone, including random tourists.
War material from the USA for the Afghani Mujahideen was channeled through Pakistan, and during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan the US government and the Pakistani government formed a deep alliance. The arms, training, and logistical support that the USA provided to the Afghan Mujahideen was also channeled to Terrorists who are trained and supported by the Pakistani government and military to infiltrate into Indian Kashmir in an ongoing effort to destabilize the Indian control of Kashmir.
After the Russians left Afghanistan, the Pakistani-based Taleban, which had always received its primary support from the Pakistani government, seized power in Afghanistan and formed the ruling government there until the US invasion of Afghanistan in late 2001. The Pakistani government and military abandoned their open support for the Taleban when the USA bribed Pakistan with many billions of dollars in US military and economic aid just prior to the US invasion of Afghanistan.
Al Qaeda, which in Arabic means 'the Base', was originally the name that the CIA station chiefs in Saudi Arabia gave to the database that they created to keep track of the individuals and groups to which the US government was providing funds for the Afghani Mujahideen during the Russian occupation of Afghanistan.
During the Russian occupation of Afghanistan, Osama bin Laden was an organizer for the Afghani Mujahideen. Bin Laden worked to help funnel US arms and supplies to the Mujahideen, and bin Laden helped bring Saudi and other foreign fighters to Afghanistan to assist the Mujahideen. In these roles, Osama bin Laden was constantly in close communication with the CIA, and bin Laden was functioning as an agent, asset, ally, or employee of the CIA. Osama bin Laden later assisted the USA's divide-and-conquer agenda in the Balkans by recruiting Saudis and other foreign fighters for the Kosovo Liberation Army during the 1990s. The Balkans are an entry-point for heroin trafficking into Europe, and the CIA, assisted by the Al Qeada volunteers recruited by Osama bin Laden, engaged in heroin, arms, and human trafficking there.
Ex-US President George H. Bush and his son, the current US President George Walker Bush, have been close friends with the bin Laden family of Saudi Arabia since the 1980s. The bin Laden family business involves major construction projects throughout the Middle East, and the US government and US corporations have been frequent customers of the bin Ladens. On the day after the 9/11/2001 attacks on the World Trade Center Twin Towers in New York City and on the Pentagon in Washington D.C., President George W. Bush authorized the departure of members of the bin Laden family for flights back to Saudi Arabia without any of the bin Ladens being subject to any questioning by the US intelligence agents or law enforcement.
Osama bin Laden has never claimed responsibility for the 9/11 attacks on the WTC and the Pentagon, and officials at the USA's Federal Bureau of Investigation have stated that they do not list Osama bin Laden as a suspect in the 9/11 attacks because they "do not have sufficient evidence that Osama bin Laden was involved in the 9/11 attacks." Since 9/11, several videos and audiotapes have been posted on the Internet that purport to show Osama bin Laden, but all of them have been proven to be forgeries. President George W. Bush has publicly stated, "I don't care about Osama bin Laden" and Bush has also publicly dismissed any need to find or capture Osama bin Laden.
Al Qaeda is nothing more than a bogey man, an invented ghost to frighten children and the ignorant. Al Qaeda is the invisible and nonexistent enemy that the US government has manufactured to provide an excuse for its never-ending 'War on Terrorism', which is in reality a war of US aggression for US domination of the world and its resources. I feel like I'm living ahead of my time.

William Blum shows why Iran is no threat:
'' * Iran has no right to nuclear weapons: Yet, there is no international law that says that the US, the UK, Russia, China, Israel, France, Pakistan, and India are entitled to nuclear weapons, but Iran is not. Iran has every reason to feel threatened. In any event, the US intelligence community's National Intelligence Estimate (NIE) of December 2007, "Iran: Nuclear Intentions and Capabilities", makes a point of saying in bold type and italics: “This NIE does not assume that Iran intends to acquire nuclear weapons.” The report goes on to state: "We judge with high confidence that in fall 2003, Tehran halted its nuclear weapons program ."
* Ahmadinejad is a Holocaust denier: I have yet to read of Ahmadinejad saying simply, clearly, unambiguously, and unequivocally that he thinks that what we know as the Holocaust never happened. He has instead commented about the peculiarity and injustice of a Holocaust which took place in Europe resulting in a state for the Jews in the Middle East instead of in Europe. Why are the Palestinians paying a price for a German crime? he asks. And he has questioned the figure of six million Jews killed by Nazi Germany, as have many other people of all political stripes.
* Ahmadinejad has called for violence against Israel: His 2005 remark re "wiping Israel off the map", besides being a very questionable translation, has been seriously misinterpreted, as evidenced by the fact that the following year he declared: “The Zionist regime will be wiped out soon, the same way the Soviet Union was, and humanity will achieve freedom.”3 Obviously, he was not calling for any kind of violent attack upon Israel, for the dissolution of the Soviet Union took place peacefully.
* Iran has no right to provide arms to Hamas and Hezbollah: However, the United States, we are assured, has every right to do the same for Israel and Egypt.
* The fact that Obama says he's willing to "talk" to some of the "enemies" like Iran more than the Bush administration did sounds good: But one doesn't have to be too cynical to believe that it will not amount to more than a public relations gimmick. It's only change of policy that counts. Why doesn't Obama just state that he would not attack Iran unless Iran first attacked the US or Israel or anyone else? Besides, the Bush administration met with Iran on several occasions.''

When Bush took office oil was around $10 or $12 a barrel, after invading the middle east it went to around $150 per barrel, that sent a huge shockwave thru the economy affecting everything, inflation went crazy and most everything doubled in price, the oil people got rich and the economy went in the tank, oil is your culprit, and if you want to see the USA strong again, we better get off oil and get on natural gas or electric cars or something, because next time it won't be so pretty.

Why did it end with Jesus? Shouldn't we still have God turning us into pillars of salt, or burning bushes or Jericho?

Why couldn't anyone from another country write of God's miracles through his divinity?Chad: All I read about Kong Hee is that he is a Christian Pastor in Singapore. That has nothing to do with ancient history and any fact that God was present in Asia.
moreResolved Question: The Bush legacy lives on in our hearts and minds?
How will historians, who are far less biased than your average voter, portray the Bush legacy?
Look at what's happening in Iran. These people are rioting for a fair Democracy. They have seen what has happened at Iraq's voting booths. Women voting, everyone allowed a vote.
Will historians credit the Bush administration with strategically injecting Democracy into the middle east causing a ripple effect throughout that portion of the globe? Will they say that he laid the ground work for fair Democracy in every country in the world? Will they contribute the protection of our country during and after the 9/11 attacks to his administration?
Would liberals allow it? Will they become rabid with rage at the thought of any kind of praise for this man? As a republican I can see that in the future, no matter how much I hate Obama, we should credit him with any success he contributes to our country. Can liberals be as fair minded?

Some people see things through open eyes in this country with extreme clarity. Other only speak of sebaceous glands in their genitals when asked questions that require some thoughtful, clearheaded thinking.Typre50, thanks for another good answer. My point being, if your version were on the left, my version on the right. The happy medium between our views of him is how history should see this. That happy medium actually isn't that bad. I'll admit before anyone else that he made a few bad mistakes, Katrina NOT being one of them, but he did make mistakes. When compared to others Bush Jr. will fall into the hazy grey middle of the ranking charts along with many other presidents we've forgotten. In my opinion, as of right now Obama will be right there next to him. I'll give him time though.

The liberals will say "He's a lot better then Bush" and in some aspects that is so. He can read a teleprompter unlike George so I'll give him that but by giving an answer as simple as this one- your proving that Obama is not change. He's simply just better then Bush without providing clear concrete facts of this positive change Obama is bringing to this country.
Obama isn't anti-war I mean this middle east ear is not over- Were still in Iraq, More troops into Afghanistan and who knows if there will be a millitary draft for troops into Pakistan. Never before has our millitary been spread so far and so thin. As a nation were weak financially, and millitary-wise. I support our troops and I support a strong leader who realizes no war is worth fighting unless you would be willing to send your own son into that war. If you can't send your own, how can you send another family member's son?
There is change is washington- Socialized medicine, more government, and the mother of all bailouts.
There's also status quo in Washington- Our foreign policy is the Bush policy of pre-emptive war, Obama & Bush support the Patriot Act, So our freedoms erode, our wars continue and this is change we can believe in.
There is some change in Washington maybe more then I realize, but it's not the kind of change I can believe in.What freedoms? LOL is this a joke? Read the Patriot Act!# RIGHT TO A SPEEDY AND PUBLIC TRIAL: Government may jail Americans indefinitely without a trial.

moreResolved Question: Why do liberals say...?
we've lost the Iraq war? We invaded Iraq in 2003 in a blitzkrieg Operation known as Operation: Iraqi Freedom. In that short campaign, American forces quickly captured the capital, Baghdad, and destroyed the entire Iraqi military within weeks. Although our forces were facing 4 to 1 odds against a well entrenched enemy, the American military managed to capture Baghdad, Saddam, and defeat the Iraqi military with only 130 U.S. troops dead…
As soon as the Operation was over, the Bush administration called Operation Iraqi Freedom a success, yet many people took the “Mission Accomplished” statement and made it sound as if the war was over… Instead what happened was the sudden rise in violence from Al-Qaeda forces throughout Iraq that forced the American Military to stay. Since Bush realized that the amount of terrorists in the country of Iraq was too large, he decided to keep the military there longer, so the Iraqi people could successfully build a new democracy.
As the Iraqi government slowly built its government, the U.S. military began to get bogged down in a guerilla war against an enemy which was trying to kick out America and oppress the people of Iraq again. But throughout those years, the American military was able to keep the new Iraqi government safe, to allow them to build the democracy that the people wanted… In 2007 a surge ordered by President Bush and suggested by Senator John McCain and General David Petraeus entered Iraq. Within months the violence went down by 70% as the American military began to beat back the insurgents due to the large reinforcements of the surge…
Soon after violence went down, the Iraqi police and military forces began to score victories without U.S. aid. The Iraqi government was slowly gaining strength, due to the money spent by the U.S. on training and weaponry for the New Iraqi Government. Months after the surge, a new hike in violence by insurgents was crushed by both the U.S. military and Iraqi forces…
Several weeks after the small hike in violence was crushed, the American military pulled out of the western province of Iraq, not due to defeat, but because the Iraqi government was now able to keep it secure. The western province of Iraq was the most violent; it is were huge battles, like the Battle For Fallujah, took place… In early 2009, President Barack Hussein Obama ordered the final pull out of American troops to be by 2010…
In six years of war American forces lost 4000 troops. But in those years the American military was able to kill 19,000 insurgents and capture thousands more… Now that the Iraqi government can pretty much take care of itself, the mission seems to finally be accomplished… The nation once governed by a despotic pig named Saddam Hussein is now free. The once mighty Al-Qaeda is no longer a major threat in Iraq, now that they have fled to Syria and Iran… Now a new, freedom loving, democracy has been built in the Middle East – A democracy that stands for values that are against Al-Qaeda and the Taliban’s message of hate, that democracy now stands as a major victory over the terrorist movement… America isn’t winning the war in Iraq, it already won the war! 4000 men and women gave their lives to liberate Iraq and buy it some time so that its new democratic government could have a chance of existing. Now it is in the hands of the Iraqi people to keep themselves safe…
moreResolved Question: Why do people Blame Bush on the Economy when...?
The Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) started this entire mess. If you did not know already, the fall of our banks, housing markets, and the oil crisis in the summer of 2008 lead us to our demise. The Community Reinvestment Act started it all. This Act was passed in 1977 by Congress to address the so-called discrimination by banks, which would not lend money to most minorities. The act provided that banks have “an affirmative obligation to meet the community’s needs.”
The banks were not giving the loans out to minorities because most of them just didn’t have the money to pay them back-but the liberal congress under President Carter thought differently. But this Act was not enough to force the banks to give loans out to everyone. So in 1989, Congress amended the Home Mortgage Disclosure Act which required banks to collect racial data on mortgage applications.
This data all came together in great use when in 1995 the Clinton Administration’s Treasury Department issued regulations tracking loans by neighborhoods, income groups, and races to rate the performance of banks. The ratings were used by regulators to determine whether the government would approve bank mergers, acquisitions, and new branches. The regulations also encouraged liberal-aligned groups, such as the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) and the Neighborhood Assistance Corporation of America (NACA), to file petitions with regulators, or threaten to, to slow down or even prevent banks from doing their business by challenging the extent to which banks were issuing these loans.
With such great leverage over the banks, many of the liberal groups were able to legally extort banks and make huge pools of money available to them. Then with such power over the banks, the government and groups were able to force the banks to give out loans to individuals who had bad credit or insufficient income. These loans are known as “sub-prime” loans. Most estimates put the figure of CRA-eligible loans at $4.5 trillion dollars lost to the banks…
In 1992 the Department of Housing and Urban Development pressured two government chartered corporations, known as Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac, to buy large bundles of those sub-prime loans for the conflicting purposes of diversifying the risk and making even more money available to banks to make further risky, sub-prime loans. Congress also passed the Federal Housing Enterprises Financial Safety and Soundness Act, which mandated that those companies buy 45% of all loans from people of low or moderate income…
In 1995 the Treasury Department under the Clinton Administration established the Community Development Financial Institutions Fund, which provided banks with taxpayer money to allow the banks to give out more risky, sub-prime loans.
All of these actions turned the sub-prime mortgage market into a huge ticking time bomb that would magnify the housing bust by orders of magnitude… These policies lead to the housing boom which was seen in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. But it all eventually back fired when loans weren’t being paid back. The banks ended up losing more money than they were making - that lead to the collapse of our banks. This also led to the housing market’s demise or BIG bust…
How did this affect the housing market? Well there were no more loans being given out, since the banks finally began to collapse. With no money being given out and thousands of houses going into foreclosure it is easy to see how the housing market went to hell…
As you can see, the liberals caused us the major reason for our demise. All because they believed people had the right to houses. All because they believed high spending and expansion of government would help the poor… It didn't...
But that was not the only reason for our fall. The high spending from congress led to higher debt and almost no money, which forced us to borrow from China… This debt left us with almost no money and that is why taxes were raised on most middle class families. This spending came from republicans and democrats who believed more government programs would reduce poverty or fix any other problems. It mainly came from the war over seas.
Then came the gas crisis in the summer of 2008. This crisis happened due to the supply of oil being lower than the demand. It was also due to the speculation at home and the raising of prices by the Saudi Arabians. This all could’ve been avoided if President Clinton allowed the oil companies to drill in Alaska. In the 1990’s the companies went to congress for approval, but they were shot down…
Many liberals say we have almost no oil here, but the REAL experts from the oil companies say we have more oil than the Middle East. Who would you trust? Oil company experts or politicians? My point is thI'd like to see people actually read this answer instead of acting like ignorant idiots.

He used it a lot in Saudi Arabia yet when conservatives used it they were labeled bigots. And no I do not like Bush or Rush. Use another one. I do like Michael Savage. I also like Mark Levine and Sean Hannity.
moreResolved Question: Why do Democrats believe their economic solutions are best?
This is a question about economics not about religion, abortion, the middle east, or anything else. Please no comments about how Bush was President when the economy turned south. Please explain why high taxes, unions, welfare, and large government is good for the economy.Unions force jobs to go overseas. Not an opinion, but a fact. American unions are very dangerous in a global economy.
Higher taxes and big government is bad. I will admit Bush spent money like a Democrat, although true Republicans were angry about this.

There are always voting irregularities in the Middle East, and whatever there was doesn't seem to have changed the results of the election.
In fact, I'm amazed how peaceful the country is following their election, not that I'm happy with the result. And why is Obama supposed to do something about it now?Shirley, my point is Bush had as much to do with this guy being President of Iran as Obama does now - NOTHING!
So why are people here trying to blame Obama for the election result?I saw a poster here calling him "Abbie-loan-me-your-dinner-jacket" - I liked that one so much I never bothered learning his name.

clean air act--dirtier air,

Ok, I know many of you are going to answer this question by simply shifting the blame on the Bush Administration. This is also what the idiot does too. He gave a speech recently saying that the trillion dollar plus stimulus bill was the work of the Bush Administration. Do you Obama supporters believe that? Do you believe that he will not have to raise taxes on the middle class to pay for the stimulus and health care that he is proposing? Will he blame Bush for that in a speech? He recently gave a speech to the King of Saudia Arabia where he says he will be sending George Mitchell to the Middle East as a special envoy. Well he supposedly already gave a speech like that a few months back where he said the same thing. I remember seeing him standing next to Mitchell and Holbrook (supposedly an envoy to Afghanistan) and said the same thing. Are you not concerned that out of the idiots mouth fancy words come out without any truth? Showing one's sole is a grave insult in much of the Middle East, like giving the finger is in the US. Shouldn't Obama's team have known this? Are there many other pictures of Obama showing his soles?
What would the media have said if a pose of Bush doing this were released while he talked to, say, Iraq's leader?
Were there any such pictures?
Any info would be helpful. thanks.

I sse that the republicans love to take pot shots at Jimmy Carter, but I have a question about one of his ideas.
He suggested way back then in the 70s that we start seriously investigating and developing alternate energy sources, because he realized the danger that relying on the limited resources and the middle east, was dangerous, and could put the U.S. in peril.
(Bush, on the other hand, just a few years ago, was giving out tax cuts for people to buy gas hogging Hummers). If we had of taken Carter's advice, do you think that the Oil Barons would be licking their wounds, instead of reloading their guns (which they have aimed at the heart of America's recovery)?BRING BACK BUSH: I have to ask, what would have been so difficult about trying to answer the question? His two terms were an unmitigated disaster by any stretch or measure. His ludicrous invasion of Iraq was tatamount to tossing a lit match into a supertanker full of jet fuel. The entire Middle East is in the most precarious and upheaval filled state it's been in since the 70's thanks to this guy. Right now the World stands just as close to the brink of Global Armageddon than it's been since the height of the Cold War. And our economy? 8 long years of runaway, madcap, blow it like there's no tomorrow spending have the economy in the worst shape in been in since possibly the 1930's. moreResolved Question: Is this the truth or what?
By Ralph Peters
Salaam aleikum, dudes!
I thought I knew a little bit about the Middle East. Boy, was I wrong. Last week, President Obama set me straight. Here’s what our president taught me during his Middle-Eastern pilgrimage:
There is no more terrorism.
Wow, cool! No more security checks at airports, right? Its unclear which side won, but it’s all over. Obama didn’t mention terrorism a single time in his star-turn speech in Cairo. Only a few “violent extremists” (our own troops?) remain at large.
America tortured.
I thought there was still a debate about that, but I guess not. And no regime in the Middle East tortures anybody, ever. Our bad.
Churches and synagogues are about to open in Saudi Arabia. Since “Islam has a proud tradition of tolerance” and there are “over 1,200 mosques within our borders,” I can’t wait for the first Baptist hymn-sing in Riyadh. Sign me up!
Behind closed doors with Saudi King Abdullah, our president must’ve mentioned the many hundreds of churches and synagogues that thrived on the Arabian Peninsula during the Prophet’s lifetime. Muslims zealots destroyed them. Time to get the bin Laden family’s construction firm on the job re-building!
And stoning converts who leave Islam to death is a no-no, right?
Women can dress any way they want in Saudi Arabia. Just my analysis, based on Obama’s insistence that Islam recognizes “the dignity of all human beings” and that Muslim women must be free to make their own decisions about what to wear. Surely, fashion choices extend to Mecca and Medina, not just Detroit and Paris?
“Islam has always been a part of America’s story.” Guess the Founding Fathers missed that one. But I’m assured that George Washington turned to his mullah in the dark days at Valley Forge, that Daniel Boone read the Koran around the campfire, and that al Qaeda stood by us at the Alamo.
Yeah, there was that misunderstanding with the Muslim Barbary Pirates, when they killed, kidnapped and enslaved American citizens for years - but who’s perfect?
There are “nearly seven million American Muslims.” Who knew? We all thought there were three or four million, max. Is this a preview of the predetermined results of our upcoming census? [Note to editor: Confirm numbers with ACORN.]
“It was not violence that won full and equal rights” for black Americans. So much for the Civil War and my ancestor, who volunteered to wear Union blue and paid for it with his life. I thought a half-million Americans died fighting to end slavery. Silly me. Still, it was brave of our president to highlight slavery’s “lash of the whip” in his speech, since his own ancestors, as Muslims along Africa’s Swahili Coast, would have been complicit - if not actively engaged - in enslaving their fellow black Africans for Arab masters. As a self-proclaimed “student of history,” Obama surely knows that.
Holocaust, schmolocaust.
Aren’t those pesky Jews ever going to go away? Yes, denying the Holocaust is “hateful.” But let’s get a grip. Palestinians “endure . . . daily humiliations.” Their lot’s “intolerable.” Israel “devastates Palestinian families.” No wonder our president shunned wicked Israel during his trip - sending a clear, if unspoken, message that Jews are now fair game.
“America’s strong bonds with Israel are . . . unbreakable.” Yup. And they’re issued by Chrysler.
Hamas is a legitimate, recognized voice of the Palestinians. Rocket attacks against civilians, suicide bombings and kidnappings really work.
Iran can have nukes.
Our president’s acceptance of “peaceful nuclear power” for Tehran was coded language for “no pre-emptive military action.”
Jordan doesn’t matter.
So much for one Arab country’s attempts at human decency. If you want attention from our president, you’ve got to be a desert gangbanger.
My wife wondered why Obama didn’t make his speech in Indonesia, the world’s most-populous Muslim state, where he would’ve been welcomed proudly as a home-boy. Obama just reinforced the stereotype that Muslim equals Arab.
Democracy isn’t for everybody.
We’re done peddling that particular drug.
Of course, our president didn’t mention al Qaeda’s catastrophic defeat in Iraq, where millions of Sunni Arabs rejected the terror organization. Iraq was Bush’s war, so it’s all bad.
And forget junk like modern medicine, telecommunications or even the internal combustion engine. Islam’s been the source of real progress. Like “calligraphy.” Medieval Islam’s ballyhooed contributions actually were due to Greek-speaking Christians (including slaves) employed as court officials, to Armenian architects and Jewish physicians. But, yeah, Arabs had really good penmanship.
Our president’s breakthrough message to the Muslim world was that America overthrew democratic regimes, slavery was our history’s central feature, and we invaded people on a whim - but we’re sorry now.
His crowd-pleasing speech sanitized and romanticized Islam, letting the disgruntled popu
moreResolved Question: Did Obama have an ulterior motive in his speech to muslims?
He extended an open hand. He put on a face of an intelligent, thoughtful, even handed America, as opposed to the macho, dumb, stupid, cowboy, shoot first ask questions later face that Bush put on.
This makes America sound much more reasonable to the average muslim in the middle east. Which means they are more likely to support secular moderate governments as opposed to right-wing religious fundamentalists/terrorists.
1) The right-wing Hezbollah government in Lebanon has lost seats. The pro-western government is staying in power. Obama's speech could have only helped.
2) The Iranian elections are coming up. Because of Obama, hopefully people in Iran will see this is a golden opportunity for them to join the international community again. They can reject that right-wing retard currently in power and vote for a more moderate leader.
3) The moderates and of course the Labor party in Israel see in Obama a chance for peace. They will be embolden to kick the Likud party out of power, and make it easier for Obama to try to negotiate peace in the middle east. Odds are low, but better than nothing.

Talking to Iran with out preconditions?
Iran wants war. They have said so many times, & are arming themselves to fight this war.
By talking to Iran without preconditions, we isolate Israel. By isolating Israel we increase the chance that they will try to take out Iran for legitimate self defense concerns.
A unrestricted war in the Middle East will draw in almost every other nation.

I understand that we have troops over in a few of the Middle Eastern countries, specifically Iraq and Afghanistan, but are we actually at war or are we solely doing a "military operation" over there? Because the U.S. Constitution says that the President cannot declare war, only Congress. A few people have told me that President Bush never actually convinced Congress to declare war on Iraq, or any other Middle Eastern countries, for that matter. Is this true or false? Please give me some detail. Thank you.
moreResolved Question: Did Bush ever take a trip this expensive?
After Obama is finished with his second apology tour in the Middle East, Michelle and their two daughters will fly on another jet to meet him in Paris where they will vacation for a couple of days. Then they will all hop on Air Force One to head home while the jet that brought Michelle and the kids will fly back with just the pilot on board. Must be nice to be able to do this on the Tax payers' dime.Bush preferred vacationing in Texas, Obama's prefer vacationing in Paris. It's not rocket science to figure out which one is more expensive. Way to tighten our belts during hard times.
moreResolved Question: Why am I not allowed to criticize Obama?
I decided to put yahoo answers to the test, I posted two questions, or rather statements. Here they are.
1.) Why does Bush the communist suck so much? He RUINED MY COUNTRY!!?
2.) Barak Obama the communists Sucks and he is ruining my country?
The one about Obama promptly got deleted, yet the one about Bush is still up there after a few weeks. Why is that?
Obviously those are pretty stupid questions, the latter is not even a question. The point was not to try and get thoughtfull responses, the point was that I wanted to see which one would get censored. I was not surprised to find out which one got the boot. So I want to know, why is there this obvious double standard between the two political point of views, democratic and republicans.
Why is it if I criticize Obama, I am a racist, yet he just apointed a judge who admits to making desicions based on race and yet that is somehow OK. Why were we not allowed to mention that Obama's middle name was Hussein and that he has VERY strong Muslim ties and that most Muslims consider him a Muslim. Yet he is now out there in the middle east bowing to the muslim world embracing HIS Muslim heritage and saying that we are the largest muslim nation???? WTF?
I just want to know WHY?
P.S. lets have a bet on how long this question will last before it gets deleted. I am saying a generous 3 days. Any takers...
moreResolved Question: Where is Planet Muslim?
What is this Muslim World that President Obama talks about and that Sky News keeps referring to? Has a new planet populated exclusively by Muslims been discovered overnight? Are Muslims now somehow a different species from the rest of us and capable of interplanetary travel? No, none of the above. Muslims support a faith, the Islamic faith, that is all, in supporting their faith they are no different to other faith believers, to give them some alternative world platform elevates them beyond all other faiths. No one talks about the Christian world or the Druid world or even the jewish world because that would be stupid. We simply describe them as faiths or religions which is what they are. We do not try and give them alternative world attributes so why is that done with the followers of Islam?
Why is President Obama trying to appease Muslims anyway? Did not the followers of this new world faith behead a captive only a day or so ago? Is it the not the same faith followers that murder our soldiers almost daily? Their leaders preach hate openly in the streets of the UK and Muslim citizens of the UK plot and train to bomb and murder their fellow citizens. Did we here a word about this from the US President, not a chance. instead it was the same old rubbish about 9/11. President Barack Hussein Obama wouldn't dare rebuke the "Muslim World" properly during his Middle East tour, instead the most powerful man on the planet (That's this planet) simply offers excuses and apologises for how we have all misunderstood Muslims and that wouldn't it be better if we all got along! Carter tried it, Bush 1 & 2 tried it, even Bill Clinton tried it with "We need to build a bridge" Seems like a bridge is no longer viable as a means of getting the message across to Muslims, and apparently we now need a space ship? The next time, and there will be a next time, that one of these rouge muslim run nations sponsor the next 9/11, then we should open up a giant can of whoop *** and wipe the scum from the face of the earth. No that's something Obama wont be saying today.
